Everything You Need to Know About the Winter Warmth Festival 2022

The Winter Warmth Festival is coming; here’s everything you need to know!

There’s a sprinkling of snow on the ground, and the winter season has just begun in #TheCityByTheSea! Living your best seaside life doesn’t only apply to the summertime when you can spend your days by the water. In the winter, you can get outdoors, enjoy culinary creations, great music, and come together for our Winter Warmth Festival!

Cozy Culinary

Our first main event is February 9 with a Dueling Pianos Show at Brothers 2! This high-energy event promises a great night out with the crew as the performers take your requested tunes so you can clap and tap the toes to all your favourites!

Cozy Culinary

Running from February 7 to 27, the festival kicks off with a culinary adventure where five Summerside restaurants will release a supper menu each week of the festival. This means there will be 15 different specialty menus to try throughout the month! Each participating restaurant will showcase a 3-course ‘Prix Fixe’ with the dishes highlighting the local flavours and warmth of a delicious meal in the winter. Participating restaurants include:

🍽 Evermoore Brewing Co.

🍽 Yumi Sushi

🍽 Fiveelevenwest

🍽 Brothers 2

🍽 Breakwater Bar & Grill at the Silver Fox Entertainment Complex

Come to The Silver Fox on February 16 at 7:00 p.m. for a relaxing yoga session while enjoying your favourite brew. Join yoga teacher Jean-Marc Beauchesne as he shows you how to hold the warrior position while sipping on a cold one.

Registration is $15 per person and includes a beer, the yoga class and a $10 gift card for the Breakwater Bar & Grill. For health and safety reasons space is limited to the first 30 registrants and you must provide your own yoga mat. This is a 19+ event.

Also on the culinary trail is a series of tasting events – Sip with Your Supper. On February 10, you can enjoy a night with Sommelier Lesley as she pours four complimentary curated wine selections as they pair perfectly with your Cozy Culinary Winter Warmth menu item. A second Sip with Your Supper evening will be held on February 17, at Fiveelevenwest.

If wine isn’t your style, Evermoore Brewing Co. will host Flight Night on February 15. With every Cozy Culinary menu ordered, guests will receive a complimentary flight of beers brewed by Evermoore. With over 12 beers on tap, attendees are sure to find their new favourite brew!

And, for those who like to say, “I’ll have a scotch on the rocks,” Lesley Quinn will host the Stellar Somm Scotch Night at Iron and Salt on February 20. In this guided experience, Lesley will pour you four complimentary curated scotch selections that will amplify the evening’s cozy culinary menu.

*Please note, you must order off the cozy culinary menu to participate in the tasting events. Seats are limited, and reservations are encouraged directly with participating restaurants.*

Outdoor Adventures

From snoga to seaside parties, we’re bringing the warmth! Throughout the festival, you can try your hand at a number of outdoor events, kicking off with the By the Moonlight Snowshoe Walk on February 11, don’t worry, we’ll bring the snowshoes. From 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., enjoy a dreamy guided moonlit walk of Rotary Friendship Park. With a max capacity of 10 attendees at a time, pre-registration is required. But don’t worry if you miss the first walk; we’re also hosting one on February 18.

If trying yoga is on your New Year’s mindfulness list, Greg Weeks has you covered with his Seaside Snoga sessions. Held at Green’s Shore Park and Spinnaker’s Landing, the seaside locations are the perfect place for you to practice your ujjayi breath and get your stretch on.

Following your yoga, you can take the chill off with the Keeping it Toasty Seaside Party. Held at the Paddle Shack (stationed on the boardwalk), you can relax seaside by the fire, have a bevvy, try a tasty treat, and hang with some new friends. After all, a party near the beach doesn’t have to be just a summer thing!

And, on February 25, you can get the whole family together for Skating Under the Stars. Head to the outdoor rink at Schurman park for an evening of fun. There will be lights, music, bonfires and pitchers of hot chocolate with marshmallows on top!
