Le Grand Cercle
Une présentation du Projet Rennais-Arts
This production marks the third and final chapter of Prince Edward Island’s Acadian Trilogy. It draws inspiration from the musical Le Grand Cercle, first presented during the 2004 World Acadian Congress in Nova Scotia, and adapts the story specifically for PEI.
The story opens with Juliette, daughter of Nicolas and Madeleine. She now serves as Mother Superior and attends the historic meeting to build Mont-Carmel Church.
The following scenes trace key moments in the Acadian community’s modern journey. These include the rise of the co-operative movement, the Second World War, the fight for French-language schools, the World Acadian Congresses, and a vision of a future shaped by global change.
This performance is presented in French and offers a wonderful opportunity to experience Acadian and francophone theatre on stage.
