The fun doesn’t stop when the thermometer drops – during the winter, this beach is perfect for skating, hockey, and cross-country skiing.

Kitesurfing

Want to take to the skies and surf at the same time? Then you need to try kitesurfing.

Summerside is a hub for kiteboarding enthusiasts, as the Canadian freestyle champion for kiteboarding hales from just outside our city. You can kitesurf off our beach and in the surrounding water, but if you’re not up for strapping on the board, it’s also a great spectator sport along our Baywalk or off of Green’s Shore Park beach.

Baywalk

Who doesn’t want to stroll along the shore or feel the ocean breeze as you pedal along on your bike? The must-do walk is the Baywalk Boardwalk and Cycling Trail (6.5 km) which takes you along our city’s waterfront.

Pro tip: If you are looking to connect with the Confederation Trail you can do so at a number of points (plus it’s right by our downtown restaurants and bars if you need a break or to refuel).

Where to Park: The main parking lot is located by the Baywalk Sign on Water Street. There are also pedestrian/cycling entrances and a parking area located off Mackenzie Drive. Amenities include parking, picnic areas, benches, and washrooms. The trail is wheelchair accessible.
