PEI Fox Museum

Discover how Prince Edward Island experienced its very own gold rush and became the birthplace and international headquarters of a remarkable global industry. The PEI Fox Museum invites visitors to explore the fascinating story of fox ranching—an industry defined by colourful characters, bold ambition, high stakes, and high fashion.

Learn why this industry began in Canada’s smallest province, how it grew into a worldwide phenomenon, and why it eventually faded, leaving behind a powerful legacy that shaped PEI for decades. At the heart of the story is the rare and remarkable Silver Black Fox, an animal that put Summerside on the world stage.

Through engaging exhibits, artifacts, and real stories, the museum brings to life the people and ideas that transformed fox farming into an international industry.

The PEI Fox Museum is located on the second level of the Summerside Interpretive Centre in the historic Summerside Armoury.
