Wyatt Historic House Museum

Built in 1867, the Wyatt House Museum offers a rare glimpse into the private lives of a prominent Summerside family across two centuries. Faithfully restored to its Edwardian-era beauty, the home is filled with original furnishings, personal artifacts, and layered stories that bring the past vividly to life—some of them intriguingly mysterious.

The house was home to three generations of the Wyatt family, including Wanda Lefurgey Wyatt, who lived here until her passing in 1998 at the remarkable age of 102. Over the years, the Wyatt House welcomed notable guests, including three Canadian Prime Ministers, adding to its rich historical significance.

Guided, hour-long tours take visitors room by room through a remarkable collection of antiques, curiosities, and family heirlooms—right down to the pine floors cut from ship masts. Along the way, you’ll hear stories of Island life, architecture, politics, personal triumphs, and tragedies, all woven together in an experience that feels deeply personal and immersive.

Located at 85 Spring Street in Summerside’s historic residential district, the Wyatt House Museum is a Designated Heritage Building, protected by municipal, provincial, and national heritage registers. It has also received a PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation architectural preservation award, recognizing its outstanding restoration and cultural value.
