On September 8th at the Silver Fox Entertainment Complex, join us for a night of laughs at the East Coast Comedy Spotlight!
This night of fun includes the likes of:
– Allyson June Smith: After her initial forays into stand up garnered her some success, Allyson hit the comedy club circuit, which in turn propelled her to headlining gigs at festivals. She shone in multiple high-profile slots at the Winnipeg, Halifax, and Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival. And that was just the start. In the years that followed she received multiple nominations for Best Female Stand-up at the Canadian Comedy Awards, taped her own Comedy Now special and did stints on Much Music’s Video on Trial and CBC’s The Debaters.
– Kyle Hickey: After starting stand-up over a decade ago at an open mic in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Kyle Hickey has blossomed into a talented writer, actor and comedian, making appearances at the Boston Comedy Festival, CBC’s Ha!ifax Comedy Festival, Sirius XM’s Top Comic and JFL42 in Toronto, as well as acting roles seen on YTV, MTV and Amazon Prime.
– Host Shawn Hogan: Originating from Mill River, Prince Edward Island, Shawn Hogan has produced and starred in hundreds of sold-out comedy shows across the East Coast. Over the last 10 years, he has performed and lived in Toronto, where he created, produced, and hosted the Hangover Cure Comedy Show, one of Toronto’s most unique and successful independent comedy shows which recently made its debut at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. Shawn has made consecutive national television appearances as part of the Halifax Comedy Festival, has been a featured comedian on CBC Radio’s “Laugh Out Loud” and on Sirius XM’s “JFL Originals”, and most recently was hand picked to open for Gerry Dee in front of a sold out crowd at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown, PEI.
