Christmas Trees Through the Ages & Christmas Card Exhibit
Put the Magic of Christmas in your 2024 holiday season with a visit to the Christmas Trees Through The Ages Exhibit presented by Culture Summerside and Wyatt Heritage Properties Inc.
Dates: December 2nd – 21st
Open Hours: 9 AM – 5 PM from Monday to Friday, 4 PM – 8 PM on Saturday
Location: Lefurgey Cultural Centre – 205 Prince St, Summerside
The exhibit transforms the main floor of the 1867 Lefurgey Cultural Centre into an evergreen forest of decorated Christmas trees that tell how the tree became a central part of Christmas celebrations. It explores the industry that has grown out of the tradition and the ever-changing fashions that keep it going.
The exhibit, first launched in 2019, has new trees added each year. The Magic of Christmas: Christmas Trees Through The Ages engages all five senses and will stir old memories while contributing to the forming of new ones. The presenters created the exhibit to give viewers the pleasure of the season without the expense.
The Magic of Christmas: Christmas Trees Through The Ages Exhibit opens on Monday, December 2 and runs through until Saturday, December 21. The exhibit is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on the Saturdays from 4 pm to 8 pm.
The MacNaught History Centre and Archives will be presenting a Christmas Card exhibit using material from the archives. MacNaught is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm, and is located at 75 Spring St.
