Celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day with an afternoon of culture, music, storytelling, and connection as part of the Summerside Arts Festival. This free bilingual event honours the rich traditions and enduring friendship between Mi’kmaq and Acadian communities through engaging presentations and live performances.
The afternoon begins with a special talk by Julie Pellissier-Lush and Julie Gagnon exploring the historic and cultural relationship between the Mi’kmaq and Acadians. Guests will then enjoy traditional songs performed by the Mi’kmaq Heritage Actors before the celebration concludes with a live concert by acclaimed musician Morgan Toney.
This welcoming community gathering invites everyone to come together to celebrate Indigenous culture, language, history, and artistic expression.
