Water Street Window Wonderland

Creative PEI, Explore Summerside, and the City of Summerside are excited to present Water St. Window Wonderland Mural Magic. This unique and free public art experience merges visual art with cutting-edge technology. This winter, explore the creativity of local artists and witness their works come to life through digital components like animation, video, and sound, offering an immersive and innovative experience for all ages.

Event Overview: The exhibit features 10 stunning works of art displayed in the storefront windows along downtown Water Street, each created by a local artist around the theme “Island Winter.” These pieces are enhanced with augmented reality—a digital layer you can unlock using your smartphone and the free Artivive app. With Artivive, the artwork transforms as you view it through your device, revealing animations, soundscapes, and video that deepen the connection to each piece.

How It Works:

Step 1: Download the free Artivive app on your smartphone.
Step 2: Visit the exhibit route along Water St., where 10 participating businesses have windows displaying the artworks.
Step 3: Open the app and point your smartphone at the artwork to unlock its augmented reality features.
