WAVES – Your Passport to a World of Culture
Offering a variety of food, entertainment and activities from various countries, WAVES will give festival goers a first-hand look into some of the worlds most unique cultures. Each country or culture will have a pavilion style set-up in different locations throughout the City. Pavilions will include Filipino, Celtic (Irish, Scottish & English), Indigenous, Acadian, Pakistani, Vietnamese and Kerala to name a few.
“The long list of events in Summerside this summer continues to grow with the latest addition of WAVES,” mentioned Dallas Desjardins, Sport Tourism Coordinator for the City of Summerside. “This is a great opportunity for everyone to become more familiar with the variety of cultures our City and Province is attracting.”
Tickets by way of Passports will be on sale early in July and will include access for two full days of programing over July 17 and 18 plus transportation to each of the cultural pavilions across the City. Buses will have a continuous loop and regular schedule so those taking part can plan their days and ensure they get the full experience that WAVES will provide.
“With the Atlantic Bubble set to open this month, WAVES will be yet another tourism offering for those visiting our beautiful City by the Sea,” commented Rose Dennis, Executive Director of Explore Summerside. “Our visitors will see plenty of entertainment, exotic foods and fun educational events that will help bridge the collective human experience.”
Pavilion details for menus, entertainment, and activities, will be released soon. Further information on the festival is available at: www.summersidewaves.ca
