The Lefurgey Cultural Centre
Built in 1867 in the Gothic Revival style, the Lefurgey Cultural Centre stands proudly at the corner of Granville and Prince Streets. Once known as “Bonny Castle,” this striking heritage home is now a vibrant hub for arts, culture, and history in Summerside.
The on-site Lefurgey Gift Shop serves as the ticket outlet for the nearby Wyatt House Museum. During the summer months, visitors can enjoy ice cream and house-made rhubarb punch, best savoured on the charming veranda or in the elegant dining room.
Throughout the year, Lefurgey hosts beloved community events, including the Olde-Fashioned Carnival in June and the Historic Ghost Walk in October, along with other seasonal programming.
Rich in architectural detail and family history, the Lefurgey Cultural Centre is one of three Victorian “gemstones” that make up Wyatt Heritage Properties. Today, it serves as exhibit space, programming venue, and administrative offices for Culture Summerside — the City’s arts, heritage, and culture division.
