Exhibition – Lobby: A Nod to Aunt Marion
“A Nod to Aunt Marion” features a select collection of works by the late Marion Campbell Hinton, on display in the lobby of Eptek Art & Culture Centre from May 1 to May 31. This marks Marion’s first-ever solo exhibition.
Influenced by Georgie Read Barton and her time with the Barton Art Club, Marion’s work reflects a strong connection to Island art traditions.
Presented by her niece and nephew, Catherine and Bill Callbeck, the exhibition also launches an Island-wide call for artists. Visitors are invited to explore Marion’s work and create their own landscape or still life pieces inspired by her style.
This exhibition serves as the launch of an Island-wide call for art. Artists are invited to create original landscape or still life pieces inspired by Marion’s work. Selected pieces will be featured in a future juried exhibition, The Voice of Marion, presented in the main gallery at Eptek from January to March 2027. Monetary awards, generously donated by Catherine and Bill, will accompany juried recognition across several categories. Interested artists can receive a submission package by emailing eptek@gov.pe.ca or by calling (902) 888-8373.
