Harbour Filmworks presents I Swear, a critically acclaimed British biographical comedy-drama inspired by the remarkable true story of Scottish Tourette syndrome activist John Davidson.

Directed by Kirk Jones, the film follows Davidson from his adolescence in 1980s Scotland, when his experience with Tourette syndrome was brought to public attention through the BBC documentary John’s Not Mad, through his lifelong efforts to challenge stigma and increase understanding of the condition.

Robert Aramayo stars as Davidson, alongside Maxine Peake, Shirley Henderson, Scott Ellis Watson, and Peter Mullan. Blending humour with an emotional true story, I Swear explores acceptance, resilience, friendship, and Davidson’s journey as an advocate—a contribution that ultimately led to his appointment as an MBE in 2019.
