Warm up a winter night with the unmistakable voice and soulful sound of Matt Andersen as he brings Making Spirits Bright to the Harbourfront Theatre stage.

For this special holiday performance, the New Brunswick-born singer-songwriter will blend classic holiday favourites with his own soulful original songs, creating an evening filled with warmth, powerful musicianship, and plenty of seasonal spirit.

Andersen has built an international career performing everywhere from intimate clubs to major theatres and festivals across North America, Europe, and Australia. His commanding live performances and blend of folk, blues and soul have earned him millions of streams and views, along with numerous accolades. He was the first Canadian to take top honours in the solo category at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, has received multiple Maple Blues Awards, and earned European Blues Awards for Best Solo/Acoustic Act. Matt Andersen & The Big Bottle of Joy was also nominated for a JUNO Award in 2024.

His latest album, The Hammer & The Rose, showcases a more tender side of his songwriting, bringing together heartfelt folk and stirring soul while reflecting on some of life’s most meaningful moments.
