A Journey Through the Tarot

Join Kat Dewald at Celtic Mist for an eight-week journey into the world of Tarot. Running Thursday evenings from October 8 to November 26, 2026, this course will take participants from the foundations of Tarot through to intermediate concepts, with plenty of opportunities for hands-on practice along the way.

Explore the Journey of the Fool, travel through the Minor Arcana, meet the personalities of the Court Cards, and discover how symbolism, intuition, numerology, elemental correspondences, and different reading techniques can help deepen your understanding of the cards.

No previous Tarot experience is required. The course is also welcoming to those who have already started exploring Tarot and would like to deepen their knowledge and build confidence in their readings.

What You’ll Explore

Topics include a brief history of Tarot, intuition, cleansing your cards, creating sacred space, clarifying cards and “jumpers,” using a significator, getting to know your deck, asking effective questions, Tarot symbolism, reversed cards, elemental correspondences, numerology, reading for yourself, Tarot spreads, and—most importantly—plenty of practice.

Participants will need a Tarot deck for the course. A Rider Waite Smith-based deck is recommended, although you are welcome to use another Tarot deck you already enjoy working with. Celtic Mist also has a selection of decks available and can help you choose one. Please note that this course focuses specifically on Tarot; Oracle decks will not be covered.

Course materials are included. Participants will receive a binder that will grow each week as new sections of the course manual are added, along with a small journal for notes, exercises, and Tarot journaling. You’re also welcome to bring your own favourite journal, notebook, and writing tools.
