BBOYIZM’S Introduction to Hip Hop, Breaking

As part of the #WinterWarmthFestival this year, we are excited to celebrate the return of Canada’s premiere street dance company BBOYIZM to Summerside, this workshop offers participants an exploration into the principals of street dance and choreographer Crazy Smooth’s approach to the philosophy: dance to express not to impress. Places are strictly limited so book quickly to avoid disappointment!

To get the most out of this workshop, participants are encouraged to attend BBOYIZM’s acclaimed show The Evolution of B-Boying, at Harbourfront Theatre, Summerside on Sat, Feb 17 at 7:30pm.

Students will learn the basics of Breaking and create their own style and signature.  The class will begin with a group warm up before breaking down certain techniques such as Top Rock, Footwork and Freezes, and introducing power moves. Students will have the opportunity to practice what they have learned and, after a stretch and cool down, the class will close with a question and answer period.
