The Sounds of Island Summer
Concerts in the Garden of Wyatt Heritage Properties are returning for the twenty-third summer to the outdoor stage of Wyatt Heritage Properties. The concerts, held on Wednesday evenings during July and August, feature local musicians and bands performing a range of music. The concerts run from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Admission is by donation. People are asked to bring their own lawn chair for seating. During intermission, Wyatt Heritage Properties homemade ice cream, made with Island dairy products from ADL, is available for purchase. Topping for the generous helping of ice cream is Island strawberries or rhubarb.
Concerts in the Garden is a relaxing summer evening of Island entertainment on the beautiful grounds of the historic Wyatt Heritage Properties.

Summer of 2024 Lineup
July 3: Fred Martin and Kevin Arthur
Fred Martin, and Kevin Arthur are two well-known names in Island music circles. Both musicians have entertained individually and with numerous groups across the province. They come together for Concerts in the Garden to delight audiences with the singing of Maritime and Traditional music.
July 10: Cathy Jackman and Andy Paynter
Cathy and Andy are two amazing multi-talented musicians who have played separately on the Island music scene with such entertainers as Roy MacCaull and bands like Neon Country and Neon Moon. Several years ago, they joined together as a duo that has been entertaining in different venues throughout the community. They play all types of music and have a fun upbeat stage banter that keeps the audience engaged.
July 17: Blue Zone Band
The Blue Zone Band brings its own style to bluegrass and country music, and are a popular name at Island Bluegrass/country festivals and ceilidhs. The band is comprised of four talented PEI musicians: John Campbell on guitar, Steve Perry on fiddle, Mim Murphy on bass guitar, and Dave Millar on banjo and mandolin. All four band members provide the vocals.
July 24: The Buchanan Family
Lloyd Buchanan and his sister, Wanda (Dunbar), have entertained audiences from the stages of numerous venues. The Buchanan Family perform contemporary, country, and 1960s music with a smidge of gospel in the mix.
July 31: The Proud Islanders
Music has played a prominent role in the lives of Karl and Garth Proude. Garth began a professional music career on the CBC series “Music Hop” (Frank’s Bandstand) followed by “Singalong Jubilee.” He has performed with numerous artists in several genres of music. The list, to long to name, includes artists such as Anne Murray and the Dutch Mason Blues Band.
In the mid-eighties, Karl found his niche, and gave his full attention to Bluegrass Music, with the band, Touch of Grass. His next love was traditional Old-time and Maritime music. And now today, as One Proude Islander, Karl wants to keep the memory and music alive of some of the great artists and song writers who have passed on, as well as those still with us. Amand Arsenault will join the band and bring his skills on the accordian.
August 7: Three’s Company
The trio of Sandra McLure, Anne Brander (nee MacCormack) and Bobby (Pizza) MacLean plays a repertoire that consists of folk music, country, pop, easy listening, and the odd novelty song. Their performances are sprinkled with camaraderie and light-hearted banter.
August 14: Holley and McLure (Timeless Tunes Duo)
This dynamic vocal duo of Ron Holley and Sandra McLure will not only evoke musical memories but will also get your toes a tapping and your body swaying as they perform chart busting hits from the past and more recent years.
August 21: Not All There
This Irish pub band is made up of musicians Gary Arsenault, Mike Johnstone, and Ramona Roberts. They entertain crowds across the province and both the audience, and the musicians have a great time.
