La Veillée francophone et acadienne (French Presentation)

Step into a warm and welcoming evening of live storytelling with Histoires d’Île et d’ailleurs, returning to Summerside after a successful debut in Charlottetown.

Taking place on Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 PM at the Théâtre du Centre La Belle Alliance (doors open at 7:00 PM), this unique performance brings together voices from across Prince Edward Island and beyond.

Inspired by the traditional “veillée” gatherings of the past, La Veillée francophone et acadienne offers a heartfelt Acadian and Francophone storytelling experience rooted in real life. On stage, storytellers will share personal tales—funny, touching, surprising, and deeply meaningful—drawn from their own journeys.

From life-changing encounters and transformative travels to stories of family, resilience, and self-discovery, each narrative reflects moments that connect us all. These intimate yet universal stories celebrate the shared human experiences that shape our communities.

Over weeks of preparation, these stories have come to life—travelling from Canada to Africa, from Québec to Prince Edward Island—carrying memory, emotion, and connection to the present moment.

Join us for an evening where voices come together, stories are shared, and the spirit of the Island is never far away.
