Olde Fashioned Carnival
The much anticipated carnival is back on the lawns of the beautiful Wyatt Heritage Properties located at the corner of Granville and Prince Streets in Summerside.
On carnival day, the grounds will be transformed into the site of a whimsical Victorian style carnival that is a community celebration for one and all. There is so much to see and do!
Volunteer barkers invite participants to play over fifteen olde style carnival games for five cents a try. Winners of a game will pocket a token and when they have a sufficient number, they can exchange them for awesome prizes at the prize table. Carnival goers will have a variety of exciting activities to take part in, including miniature horse rides, face painting, tealeaf readings, petting farm, tug of war, and much more. Audiences will be delighted by the ongoing performances of clowns, jugglers, street performers and musicians. You can even watch a blacksmith at work!
When the smell of the carnival food creates a craving, join the line-up for barbequed hot dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy, and pay a visit to the candy store.
When a break is needed simply sit in the shade of century old trees and soak in the beauty of the heritage buildings surrounding you which make up the Wyatt Heritage Properties.
The Olde Fashioned Carnival kicks off summer, the end of the school year, the anticipated Canada Day holiday, and welcomes visitors to Summerside. It is the event in which to chat with old friends and make new ones. Step back in time and join us for an afternoon full of good olde fashioned family fun!
To keep the event accessible for all, admission to the grounds is free.
