The Island Walk Food Hike

For foodies that like to walk and walkers that like to eat, the Food Hike is your ticket to experiencing the best of both worlds on PEI. Work up an appetite as you explore one of three picturesque areas of the Island by foot. During your hike (approximately 10-13kms), you’ll have the chance to meet local chefs and sample dishes they’ve prepared with local ingredients. Quench your thirst with samples of craft beer and local drinks and enjoy live entertainment by talented musicians as you soak up the beauty of rural PEI. Don’t forget your camera!

Summerside to Kensington Train Station
Price: $50.00 plus HST

Your hike includes:
8:30 am Breakfast and entertainment
9:00 am Hike starts
Midway point: Comfort station, snack, and entertainment
12:00 until approx. 1:00 pm Hike ends, lunch, and entertainment
Transportation back to hike start.

Enjoy a flat terrain hike along the Confederation Trail from the train station in Summerside to the National Historic Site of the Kensington train station. This hike is rated easy to moderate and goes past city streets and bungalows along the former rail trail past potato fields into Kensington. Parking, menu, and entertainment details to follow.

Parking at Visitor Information Centre in Cavendish. This hike rated easy to moderate follows along the paved hiking trail of the PEI National Park and crosses Mackenzie’s Brook. Notice the red cliff formations along the way. Your hike finishes along the beach all the way to the Rustico lighthouse. Menu, and entertainment details to follow.
