The Friends of Seacow Head Lighthouse Inc

Located in picturesque Fernwood, just 20 minutes from the Confederation Bridge, the Seacow Head Lighthouse is one of Prince Edward Island’s most historic landmarks. Built in 1864, it is one of the original pre-Confederation lighthouses and one of the oldest remaining wooden lighthouses in the Maritimes. It is also recognized as a Heritage Lighthouse and a Designated Historic Place.

Since acquiring the site in 2022, The Friends of Seacow Head Lighthouse Inc. have been dedicated to preserving its heritage while enhancing the visitor experience. Plans include a museum space to share lighthouse history and support tourism in the region.

With a vision of “Keeping the Light On” for future generations, the organization is also embracing sustainability through the installation of a dual-port EV charging station, offering a convenient stop for travellers.

Blending history, innovation, and community, the Seacow Head Lighthouse remains a welcoming destination for visitors and Islanders alike.
