The 31st Annual Giant Pumpkin & Squash Weigh-Off

Kool Breeze Farms and The PEI Giant Pumpkin & Squash Growers Association will present the 31st Annual Giant Pumpkin & Squash Weigh-Off on Saturday October 12th from 10am – 1pm. Entries for the contest can be collected at 231 Read Drive, Summerside behind the Ice Cream Barn between 9am – 10:30 am, there is a registration fee for pumpkins or squash of $15 but free to the public to enjoy.

The weigh off will begin at 12 noon. There will be a BBQ with hotdogs, hamburgers and drinks available.

The Field of Fun will be open free of charge. The field features straw creations, life size Beetlejuice Box, characters from Inside Out 2, and other characters for all ages to enjoy. The corn maze will be open, and admission is $5 + tax per person, $20 + tax for families of 5 and every additional person is $4 + tax (children 2 & under are free). There will be complimentary wagon rides and other family friendly contests and activities.

Previously the event has been hosted by Vesey’s Seeds and Silver Bells Tree Farm. Again, this year the Simmons Family at Kool Breeze Farms have taken on the role as host. At the event in 2023 the largest pumpkin weighed in at a whooping 1180lbs. The event would not be possible without the many generous sponsors.

Additionally, there will be Pink Pumpkins for sale for $6.99 with 100% of the proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society
