Running from January 23 to February 12 the 2023 installation kicks off with our Cozy Culinary menus at participating restaurants and then packs in snow much fun for the three-week festival!

Back for the third annual event, the Winter Warmth Festival features curated culinary dishes from five restaurants in the city for our Cozy Culinary Trail. Each week, each restaurant will unveil a new cozy culinary menu for you to try! This year’s restos include:

Nights with Stellar Somme
Superstar Sommelier Lesley Quinn is back in the city for her curated culinary and drink pairings. Partnering with WW restaurants, Lesley and the chef will work to create a perfect pairing of food and drink! Lesley will select several options to accompany the Winter Warmth menu, visit participating tables to chat with you about her selections, the notes, and the stories they tell.
The first of these nights is on January 26, with a Scotch Sipping evening at Samuel’s Coffee House from 6:30 – 9 p.m. During the night, Lesley will present 4 scotches for you to sip and taste with your curated menu. ($45+tax).
If wine is more your style, don’t miss An Evening with Reds at Brothers 2 on February 8 where Lesley will guide you through 4 red wines that can help you build your understanding of tasting notes, what is full bodied, and what the heck tannins mean. Each wine will be perfectly paired to the home cooked deliciousness of Brothers Two Winter Warmth menu.
Then on February 9, Master Your Port. During the evening, Lesley will guide you through the many styles and flavours of this historic Portuguese delicacy. If you have ever wondered what the difference between a Ruby and a Tawny are, or a LBV versus a Vintage Port then this tasting is for you. This tasting will feature 4 Ports from the iconic Graham’s producer, indisputably one of the great names of Port, paired to Fiveelevenwest’s decadent Winter Warmth Menu.

It wouldn’t be the Winter Warmth Festival without some fun activities outdoors! We’ve brought back favourites from last year’s event as well as some new activities we know you’re going to love!
Keeping it Toasty Seaside Parties at The Knot
Take the chill off with some seaside fun at The Knot! Hanging out with your friends beachside isn’t just something for the summertime! With fun drinks, cozy fires, and tasty treats you’ll cozy up to friendly faces for a fun afternoon! Seaside Parties take place January 28 and February 11 from 1 – 3 p.m.
Skating Under the Stars
A starry night, hot chocolate to keep you toasty… heck lace up your skates and hit the ice! Enjoy the night at the outdoor rink at Schurman park for an evening of fun under the night sky! DJ Dekz will bring the vibes with fun tunes and disco lights. Don’t miss it on February 4 from 7 – 8 p.m.
Moonlit Snowshoe Walks
Skating not your style? Don’t worry, we’ve got another dreamy nighttime event you can enjoy. Strap on some snowshoes for a gentle walk by the moonlight through Rotary Friendship Park. Snowshoes are provided. Don’t miss the fun on January 27, February 3, and February 10 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required. To register please email millee@exploresummerside.com.
Snowman Building Competition
Calling all snowman connoisseurs ☃️ put your mitts on, don your hats, and bring your supplies because we have a snowman building competition calling your name! A fun event for all ages, challenge your friends or your little ones to who can build the best snowman or woman! We can’t wait to see all the snowmen on February 4 from 10 – 11:30 a.m.! There will be decorations available to add to your creation, but don’t miss bringing your own personal touches! There will be prizes for creativity.
Seaside Snow Yoga
Back again this year are the Seaside Snow Yoga sessions with Greg Weeks! Every Saturday from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., head to Greens Shore and ground yourself through your ujjayi breath.

On February 4, cheer on the Summerside Western Capitals as they take on Grand Falls on Home Ice at Credit Union Place! Puck drops at 7 p.m.! February 9, the Caps return to Home Ice to battle against Miramichi at the Credit Union Place at 7 p.m.! Then on February 11, don’t miss the Caps take on Pictou County on Home Ice at the Credit Union Place 7:00 p.m.

Cost to participate is $20/per person to participate equalling $80/per team + HST. Prizes for the top three teams! RIDE IT! A Winter Biking Festival
Also returning this year is the RIDE IT! Winter Biking Festival – running in conjunction with the Winter Warmth Festival. February 4 and 5 will mean a jam-packed weekend in Summerside with the Rotary Park Rundown (the only winter biking race of its kind) leading the way with winter biking racers shredding the trails kicking things off on February 4th. And like last year, you’ll have the chance to winter bike seaside with the Seaside Bikes and Brews event! Join us February 4 from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. for a bike ride along the Baywalk with the start and finish home base being the Knot Beach Bar! After your ride, pop in for a brew and enjoy the campfires, treats, and rocking atmosphere!
That evening, Meridian63 MTB will also lead a Fat Bike Night Ride through Rotary Friendship Park beginning at 7:00 p.m. These are BYOB events (bring your own bikes).
Our friends at Meridian63 MTB are back this year to also teach you how to Learn to Ride Winter Bike with workshops on February 5. Certified biking rockstars, Meridian63 MTB will show you the how-tos about winter biking. Then after a few exercises you’ll put your new skills to use with a ride through Rotary Friendship Park! We’ll supply the bikes; all you have to do is register in advance – millee@exploresummerside.com. There is room for 4 people per session offered.
