SEASIDE SEAFOOD CELEBRATION

Kick off the season with some local Island seafood with the Seaside Seafood Celebration. Set from June 24-26 chow down on lobster rolls, oysters, and other ocean bounties as we support our most significant primary industries!

Set Sail for the City (June 24):

Seafood Picnic at Spinnakers Landing (June 25 and June 26)
Grab some tasty seafood treats for an outside picnic and at Spinnaker’s Landing. Jolly Roger’s Seafood can bundle up the best lobster roll, fish n’ chips, loaded seafood chowder and so much more for you to take away and enjoy the fresh sea air. And if decks and views are on your agenda, The Deckhouse Pub will serve up both with delicious local fare and summer drinks! Sunshine, seafood, and salty air are the best way to live a full seaside life!

Carousing with the Crew at Brothers 2 (June 25 – 8:30 p.m. – 12 a.m.)

CLASSIC CAR NIGHTS

Does your engine rev over antique and vintage automobiles? Does Summerside have the perfect event for you! Every Friday starting July 1, hit the downtown on Water Street and enjoy Classic Car Nights! Hosted by Downtown Summerside Inc. and Michael’s Pizzeria you can stroll the street chat with other automobile aficionados, and then cap the night off along the water! Fall Back, ​​Atlantic Canada’s premier 50’s and 60’s band, will be there to cover all of your music cravings, Fridays from 6-9 p.m. in July and August (weather permitting).

DINE AL FRESCO

It’s no secret that we love dining outdoors (we wrote a whole guide to it last summer – you can find it here). But this isn’t a guide, but instead some of our favourite ways to enjoy Al Fresco dining while in #TheCityByTheSea!

Let’s start with a picnic! There’s no lack of greenspace in Summerside and a picnic along the water or at the park is the best way to capitalize on enjoying good food and sunshine! Whether you pack your picnic yourself, or you pick one up, eating outdoors is a fun way to experience the waterfront!

Next we suggest enjoying a cold treat on the boardwalk! With Dairy Bars being and Island staple (we have several in the city) why not enjoy your cold treat when you stroll along the boardwalk! Birds will be chirping, a chipmunk might make an appearance and you can get your steps in while you cool off with your favourite flavour!

Dine on the deck! We have multiple restaurants with outdoor seating, including a handful that are right on the water; allowing you to eat right next to the ocean weather you’re eating surf or turf.
