Searching for Abegweit: The Island Songs & Stories of Lennie Gallant
It’s back by popular demand! After overwhelming requests, Searching for Abegweit: The Island Songs & Stories of Lennie Gallant returns for four special performances this summer at the Harbourfront Theatre.
Often described as a “love letter to Prince Edward Island,” this unforgettable production brings together music, storytelling, and visual art in a truly immersive experience. Award-winning Island artist Lennie Gallant—an Officer of the Order of Canada—takes the stage alongside his exceptional band, while hundreds of original paintings by his sister, Karen Gallant, are projected on a massive screen, beautifully weaving visuals into every song.
Through heartfelt ballads, lively tunes, and captivating storytelling, the show explores the legends, myths, history, and tall tales of PEI—moments that will make you laugh, reflect, and maybe even get up and dance.
Step into a vibrant musical journey through the Island’s past, present, and future. Searching for Abegweit is a signature PEI experience you won’t want to miss.
This event is part of Harbourfront Theatre’s Harbour Highlight Series—performances we’ve carefully selected and brought to Summerside because we know audiences will love them as much as we do. The series is made possible in part through the support of the Government of Canada, the Province of Prince Edward Island, and the City of Summerside.
