With agriculture and fishing as some of our primary industries, PEI has tonnes of delicious foods grown from the earth, raised on the farm, and harvested from the sea for you to enjoy!

Up West Kitchen Fest – A PEI Fall Flavours Food and Drink Festival Marquee Event

This October, get ready for a party you’ll never forget! The inaugural Up West Kitchen Fest is sure deliver the eats, the treats, the fun, and music of a traditional Island Kitchen Party!

Featuring local chefs, farmers, producers, growers, and brewers, this event will bring PEI to your plate. Your menu for the evening features dishes inspired by the Canada’s Food Island Cookbook made by Summerside restos, delicious ice cream by Holman’s Ice Cream Parlour and a curated cocktail by Stellar Sommelier Lesley Quinn! With sponsorship provided by Dairy Farmers of PEI, you can guarantee there will be some seriously delicious dairy products for you to enjoy from creamy sauces to things covered in butter we’re excited to pair things with dairy!

We also can’t fail to mention the Island’s BIGGEST charcuterie board created by Evermoore Brewing Co.! Featuring local meats, cheeses, and spreads! And don’t forget the raw oyster bar by Cascumpec Bay Oyster Co. and Maritime Madness Hot Sauce bar!

We know you’re going to work up a thirst while you’re partying the night away, so we’ve teamed up with local breweries and cideries to supply some refreshing sips!

As one of the Island’s most fiery fiddlers, Richard Wood will headline the night with some incredible tales and tunes from the stage! Bringing the true kitchen party feel to signature event with you and 499 of your closest friends!

During the second half of the evening, Logan Richard will take the stage with his band to bring some smooth bluesy grooves! As one of the best up-and-coming artists in Canada, you won’t want to miss hearing Logan and the gang!

In the city, we have three farm markets dressed with awesome local goods for you to enjoy!

Compton’s Farm Market & Berry Patch:

In business since 1957, Compton’s offers up local fruits and vegetables, take-out meals, produce subscription boxes, dip mixes, and delectable baked goods including scones and donuts! Pro-tip: In the peak of summer, make sure you add them to your berry picking bucket list!

Summerside Farmers Market

From local produce to meats, baked goods to honey, the Summerside Farmer’s Market has it all! Operating Saturdays in Downtown Summerside, this collective of Island growers and creators offers new and unique finds every week!

Kool Breeze Farms

Operating as both a farm market and garden centre, Kool Breeze Farms features local foods for you to enjoy before you head over to their ice cream barn for some local frozen treats! In the fall you can walk through the pumpkin patch picking your favourite gourds, pumpkins, and squashes!
